11 years ago i was working in recruitment when a friend persuaded me to take the leap into digital. Back then, everything was 56k and slow slow slow. 8 Years ago i founded my own digital agency and grew it to over 25 staff before selling it last year. During those years i learned a lot about digital, and a lot about myself.
I used to refer to myself as a closet geek, but the closet bit no longer stands. I’m an out-of-the-closet, loud and proud, shout-it-from-the-rooftops raving geek.
There’s nothing i love more than getting under the bonnet of anything digital; whilst running my business, i made it my business to understand how everything worked and now that i’ve sold up, I intend to use that knowledge to get more hands-on. Because my agency focused on all aspects of digital marketing, i’m one of the rare breeds that know both how to build a web site and drive traffic to it.
I plan on spending quite a bit of time in France in the coming years, I’ve lived there before and have property there, and being fluent in the language want to pass that on to my baby son. So my plan is to combine the things i love through giteguru.com, and hopefully make a bit of a living along the way.
This site is all about promoting your gite or cottage business in France online (although the advice extends to any country really). All the information provided on here will be free, and i plan to earn a living helping people develop and improve their gite web sites. So if you like what you see, and think i’m the man to help you with your web site (whether you’re starting from scratch or looking to upgrade), get in touch and we can talk shop.
