Since launching Alquiler de Casa rural en Francia, I’ve had a lot of interest (ie people registering with the website) but only a 50% uptake (people actually creating a website listing). Given that creating a listing is free, this rammed home to me the importance of making your desired outcome easy for website users and not putting unnecessary hurdles in their way.
Until today (5 hrs of coding later), users had to first register, then upon receiving a password, create their listing. It struck me that I really needed to catch people whilst they were in the mood and so I’ve changed the set up.
Ahora, users simply create their listing without the need to register. Will this result in a higher percentage of visitors to registered properties on Rent a Gite in France? Watch this space…or actually, if you own a holiday rental property in France, do us both a favour and list it on the directory!
