Since setting up the Gite Guru website, I’ve had a few search ‘keyword’ phrases I’ve been targeting in Google. Some of them were pretty easy to get (“Gite Guru”: week 1, zero competition, ” build gite website “: week 2 for some reason) and some of them proved more difficult (” gite website design “, ” gite website designer “). I’ve been working on these in recent weeks in a variety of ways:
Careful internal linking within my website
Careful optimisation of blog posts to mention these search terms
Looking at the list of things I’ve done to get there, I’d say 1 and 2 are the most important changes I’ve made. In the last few weeks I’ve been blogging on a (near) daily basis, and been paying much greater attention to my internal links within my website.
Incidentally, I also rank REALLY highly for a selection of other phrases I’d not even thought about…

So today I was excited to see that I’m now position 1 for both gite website design and gite website designer in Google.com.

For god’s sake, don’t even think about letting me design your actual Gite, my (virtual) web design skills in no way spill over into the real world.
“Gite web design” is still proving elusive at position 3, or am I being a pendant?
