I’m a big lover of background photography on Wordpress themes, (the theme on this site Aeros uses background images) so I decided to make my own, which I’m releasing today, called Photo Lover (demo here).
The Photo Lover Wordpress theme is perfect for holiday rental websites, but also for photographers, illustrators and I’m sure many other users.
It features a clever little function which allows the reader to hide the content on the page to see the image below in it’s (near) entirety and displays the page content on a semi transparency.
The photos in the background are called in randomly each time a page loads, and you can have as many background images as you want (the demo has five).
This is the Thematic Child theme, meaning you’ll need the Thematic theme in your themes folder for this Child theme to work. Don’t let that put you off, it’s simple and instructions are included in the download zip.
Download Photo Lover Theme Here.
Chuck any comments or questions in the comments below and I’ll do my best. Enjoy!
Update: Photo Lover theme is now featured on the Thematic website here.

Hi
I wonder whether it would be possible to add an additional element. The idea is to have several folders of photos/images and allow the visitor to set the theme. So I could have the theme as Lostwithiel or Abi’s (my daughter) pictures.
Thanks
Rich
Hi Richard, it’s an interesting concept and certainly one I’ll consider for any future releases!
